Abstract
The length-weight relationship and conditonfactor for 30 fish species in the Faroe Islands from 1994-2020 are analysed in this thesis. This is done by finding the a and b parameters in the equation W = a · Lb. The value b explains how the fish grows, and is found to be in the expected interval for the fish species analysed in this thesis. It is observed that three of the fish species grow more round and four less round with length compared with other studies. When looking at the form of the fish species it is found that the Faroes fish are in same or better form than fish species in other places. The condition factor is a measure that explains the condition of the fish. A relation is observed between the conditionfactor and season, length, depth and year. In 2002-2007 the fish around the Faroe Islands seem to be in worse condition compared to the other years. The length-weight relationship and conditonfactor for 30 fish species in the Faroe Islands from 1994-2020 are analysed in this thesis. The condition factor is a measure that explains the condition of the fish. A relation is observed between the conditionfactor and season, length, depth and year. In 2002-2007 the fish around the Faroe Islands seem to be in worse condition compared to the other years.
