Chaetopterus worms are tube dwelling polychaetes inhabiting the marine sediment. They feed on suspended particles which are caught in a mucus net as the water flows through the tube. A detailed morphological description of Chaetopterus sp. is given based on a collection of thirty-five specimens which were sampled for the purpose of this thesis. This description has been compared to five previous described species and one undescribed. Even though there are a number of resemblances between Chaetopterus sp. and Chaetopterus valencinii (de Quatrefages, 1866) it cannot be concluded whether these are the same species.
