Abstract
In this article the sublime as explained by Edmund Burke, Immanuel Kant and
Jean-François Lyotard is applied to three works of art: The poem „Ódn“ (1902)
by J. H. O. Djurhuus, the painting Trolaradekk (1999) by Ingálvur av Reyni and
the installation Bládýpið (1996) by Tróndur Patursson
