Storage Sizing for Renewable Energy Systems – Its Dependence on the Sequential Characteristics of the Meteorological Data, discussed for Autonomous PV + Storage Systems

Research output: Contribution to conferencePaperpeer-review

Abstract

The reliability of the sizing of storage for renewable energy system sis strongly dependent on the selection of the
underlaying data base. Concerning irradiance data sets, it is common practice to select data sets that reflect the
distribution characteristics of respective measured data in a realistic way. Which statistical measures of the data
sets beyond the distribution characteristics are of relevance for a realistic system modelling – especially the storage
sizing - is less in focus This contribution intends to focus on measures for the sequential characteristics of the data
sets, influencing the sizing of a the storage capacity.
