Abstract

Measurements of fallout radioactivity in the North Atlantic region inscluding Faroe Islands and Greenland are reported. Strontium-90, caesium-137 and caesium-134 were determined in samples of precipitation, sea water, vegetation, various foodstuffs (inluding milk in the Faroes), and drinking water. Estimates are given of the mean contents of 90 and 137Cs in human diet in the Faroes and Greenland in 1992 and 1993. Pu-239,240 data form a Canadian sedimentsampling at Thule in 1991 are reported.
