Abstract

This paper explores the Viking colonization of the North Atlantic through the lens of island archaeology, applying methodologies rooted in island biogeography and migration theories. It emphasizes the importance of integrating various forms of evidence to identify distinct phases of Viking expansion, while also advocating for the expansion of research areas and the application of enhanced biogeographical methods to better understand the waves of Viking migration across the North Atlantic.
