Project Summary in English (max. 800 characters)
Through qualitative interviews and thematic analysis, this Ph.D. project explores the daily lives of
individuals with cognitive impairment following Parkinson's Disease in the Faroe Islands. This includes
examining how structural and socio-cultural conditions influence the quality of life of this population and
their access to various services, including health services. Finally, a comparison between findings from
the Faroe Islands and those obtained from a similar project conducted in the municipality of Sønderborg,
Denmark, will form the last part of this study. This comparison will focus on the impact of social and
cultural structures on the quality of life among people with cognitive impairments following Parkinson's
disease.
