In this initial stage of the project, we are collecting speech data for further analysis in a later stage. The project has two main objectives: 1) to document the dialects of Sandoy as they are spoken today, and 2) to conduct follow-up recordings in a few years to compare with the recordings that we are collecting now. This comparison will help determine whether the new subsea tunnel to Sandoy has had an impact on the dialects spoken in Sandoy.
