Project Details

Description

Public data on medication use in the Faroes is sparse, and historically, knowledge on medication use has not been sufficiently utilized to optimize the medication use. As medication utilization studies have been shown to be essential to facilitate rational medication, the results from this study will provide valuable, novel information. The results are expected to highlight and identify future focus areas on medication use where special attention is needed, and the results will support authorities in decision making when initiatives to promote rational use of medication are to be discussed and implemented within society and the healthcare system. In addition, the results will set the stage for future in-depth studies on potential inappropriate medications among the Faroese population
