Personal profile

Born 9th of May 1962. Magister artium in Nordic Philology, teaching lecturer at Department for Faroese Language and Literature at the University of the Faroe Islands. He undertakes various administrative tasks in the capacity of head of education and deputy dean.

He is teaching grammar, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and translating studies. He has many years of experience in teaching Faroese on different levels to both Faroese and foreigners at universities in the Faroe Islands and abroad (e.g. in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Sweden).

His research interests are syntax, semantics, morphology, lexicography and pragmatics.

Research Interests

Research interests are within syntax, semantics, morphology, lexicography and pragmatics. I have solid experience in the field of lexicography as dictionary editor of Føroysk orðabók, Føroysk-donsk orðabók and others. From 2006-2009 research fellow in a project on Faroese syntax at The University of Edinburgh.

Teaching

Teaching courses in syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and translating studies at BA and MA level.
