Teaching Lecturer at The Faculty of Health Sciences

Teaching

I have worked as a lecturer at Faculty of Health Sciences since 2010 and have primarily been responsible for courses in Bachelor of Science in Nursing (240ECTS).

Main teaching subjects are:

  • Nursing science and theories
  • Gerontology and geriatric nursing
  • Health promotion and disease prevention
  • Rehabilitation
  • Reflective practice in nursing
  • Caring science 
  • Quality assurance and quality improvement in nursing practice
  • Literature searching in health science databases

In addition to teaching, I'm also supervising bachelor projects and other examination papers. 

When nursing studens are in clinical learning periods (90ECTS in total), I'm a contact teacher for both students and clinical supervisors.

Research interests

From July 2021 to July 2022 I was part of a research group conducting the research project called ‘Medication use and health status among elderly (90+) Faroese citizens’ which was led by Associate professor and Faculty Research Leader at Faculty of Health Sciences, Maria Skaalum Petersen. The project consists of both quantitative and qualitative research studies.
