Assistant Professor and Deputy Dean at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of the Faroe Islands.
Educated as a nurse at Bispebjerg Nursing School, Copenhagen, she has broad clinical experience as a diabetes nurse in Denmark and the Faroe Islands. She holds an MSc in Health Sciences from the University of Southern Denmark and a PhD from the University of the Faroe Islands. Her research centers on randomized controlled trials using football-based exercise to prevent and treat disease and promote health among patients and school children. She is affiliated with the Football Fitness research network and serves on the steering group of Football is Medicine at the University of Southern Denmark. She also contributes to the development of football fitness initiatives in Faroese football associations.

Research Interests

Her main research interests lie in health promotion and disease prevention through lifestyle interventions, particularly exercise and diet. She has conducted randomized controlled trials involving school children, older adults, and patient groups, using football-based exercise as an intervention to improve health outcomes. She is affiliated with the Football Fitness research network at the University of Southern Denmark and has experience in securing research funding.

Teaching

She has extensive teaching experience in the nursing program and the Master's program in Health Sciences at the University of the Faroe Islands. Her current teaching portfolio includes courses in diabetes pathogenesis and nursing, physical activity and inactivity, health promotion and disease prevention, rehabilitation, quantitative methods and research design.
