Research activity per year
Marina's experience in academia spans across various universities, including ESCP Business School, Copenhagen Business School, and the University of the Faroe Islands. Since 2016, she has spearheaded the development, coordination, and instruction of numerous bachelor- and master-level courses, such as Introduction to Psychology and Sociology, Introduction to Marketing, Social Media Management. Additionally, Marina has supervised over 30 bachelor management projects, 2 bachelor theses, and 11 master theses.
Marina is formally trained in pedagogy, having completed a CBS Higher Education Teaching Excellence Programme, also known as the Adjunktuddannelse i universitetspædagogisk kompetence, and additionally earning her the title of Fellow (FHEA).
Marina is an Assistant Professor in Marketing at the University of the Faroe Islands. She was awarded a Ph.D. in Business Administration (with a specialization in Marketing) from ESCP Business School, a M.Sc. in Organizational and Social Psychology from the London School of Economics, and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Tours.
Marina's research centers on digital and social media marketing, as well as extends into transformative consumer projects aimed at addressing pressing societal issues. These initiatives explore avenues to enhance the livelihoods of subsistence consumers, mitigate over-tourism in the Faroe Islands in alignment with UN Sustainable Development Goals, ethically utilize social media influencers for marketing purposes, and navigate the sensitive territory of marketing digital afterlife while safeguarding the bereaved from unwanted or unsolicited content.
Her research has been presented at several international marketing conferences and has been published in top-tier journals sucha as Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Business Research, Psychology & Marketing, and Tourism Management. In 2021 Marina’s PhD thesis was awarded the University of Paris Chancellery “Best Thesis in Management.”
In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. This person’s work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
