Hans Andrias Sølvará is Professor at Faculty of History and Social Sciences of the University of the Faroe Islands. He is a historian who has been at the University since 2009, first as Assistant Professor, later as Associate Professor. He was made a Professor in History in October 2019. Until January 2024 he was Dean at the Faculty of History and Social Science. From July 2024 Program Leader for the Master Programes in History and in Social Science and Political Science at the Faculty of History and Social Science.

In the period 1999-2009, I taught, supervised and was examiner at the Faroese University part time. 

Since November 2009, I have been employed full time at the Faculty of History and Social Science, where I as Dean of the Faculty have been responsible for and participated in the development of a new structure of the growing number of educations at the Faculty.

Since 2009 I have developed courses and written descriptions for courses which I have taught or as Programme Director have been responsible for.
