Since 2022 Associate Professor in History. From 2003 to 2022 holding positions as a curator. The professional background is within the museum world, curating exhibitions, participating in networks, giving lessons, lectures and presentations of common and special topics.

Research interests

Mainly social and cultural history. Within these two, maritime history as a multidisciplinary field is a key factor in understanding and interpreting contemporary Faroese history, given the Faroes are a seafaring nation and a maritime society. Industrial and business history is of importance and related to maritime history, as the Faroes from the mid and end of 19th century were transformed from a village community to a dynamic fishing and maritime society. The periodical field is Faroese history in the 19th and 20th century and the British social history tradition is a vital inspiration.
