My research interests lie at the intersection of psychology, mental health, and occupational health. A central focus of my work is the psychosocial working environment, including emotional demands, workplace relationships, and employee well-being. I am particularly interested in how organisational and relational factors can support sustainable and healthy working lives.

A second major research area concerns young people’s mental health and well-being, including vulnerability and resilience across the life course and the influence of social, relational, and contextual factors on well-being.

My research also encompasses psychotherapy and psychological interventions, particularly measurement-based care and feedback-informed treatment, and psychotherapy processes and outcomes. Earlier work has focused specifically on eating disorders and group psychotherapy.

Across these areas, I have a particular interest in research conducted in small-scale and island societies, where social relationships, organisational structures, and cultural context may shape health and well-being in distinctive ways.

My teaching primarily covers psychology, health sciences, research methodology, and professional relationships. I contribute to courses addressing health, well-being, and relational aspects of professional practice.

I supervise Master’s and PhD students across psychology and health-science topics, particularly within mental health, psychosocial working environments, psychotherapy, and qualitative and mixed-methods research. I place emphasis on integrating psychological theory, research methodology, and applied perspectives in both teaching and supervision.
