Máltøknidepilin er ein granskingardepil undir Føroyamálsdeildini á Fróðskaparsetri Føroya.

Á Máltøknideplinum verður arbeitt við gransking og menning av føroyskari máltøkni, sum er tvørvísindalig fakgrein. Sostatt er depilin staðsettur á Føroyamálsdeildini og virkar í tøttum samstarvi við Náttúruvísindadeildina. 

Máltøknidepilin røkir og mennir eitt máltøkniligt undirstøðukervi við dátum, myndlum og amboðum. Tilfarið verður støðugt dagført og ment, og verður atkomuligt til ymisk máltøknilig endamál. Endamálið við hesum er at stuðla og vera lopfjøl fyri menningina av máltøkni á føroyskum.

Á deplinum verður granskað í hvørjir arbeiðshættir og mannagongdir fáa bestu úrslit og taka støði í føroyskum umstøðum. Máltøknidepilin samstarvar eisini við stovnar og fyritøkur í Føroyum sum uttanlands, og alt arbeiði hjá deplinum er grundað á eina hugsjón um gjøgnumskygni og opinleika í tilfari, menning og gransking. 

 

The Centre for Language Technology is a research centre within The Faculty of Faroese Language and Literature at the University of the Faroe Islands.

At the Centre for Language Technology, research and development in Faroese language technology and NLP are conducted. The Centre is situated within The Faculty of Faroese Language and Literature and operates in close collaboration with the Faculty of Science and Technology. 

The Centre for Language Technology oversees and manages a language technology infrastructure with data, models and tools. The resources are continuously updated and maintained, ensuring accessibility for various language technology and NLP purposes. The purpose of this is to support and serve as a hub for the development of language technology for Faroese.

At the Centre, research focuses on various methods and approaches, adapting them to Faroese conditions. The Centre collaborates with institutions and companies in the Faroe Islands and abroad, and all activities within the Centre are based on a vision of transparency and open source in data, resources, and research.
