Fróðskaparsetur Føroya er okkara universitet og landsins fremsti granskingarstovnur. Endamálið er í einum at menna granskingina og dygdina í undirvísingini, umframt at skapa karmar um nýskapandi undirvísing og útbúgving á Fróðskaparsetrinum. Aðalmálið hjá Fróðskaparsetrinum er burðardygg og vísindaliga grundað menning av føroyska samfelagnum og tætt samstarv altjóða.

Fleiri enn 1000 lesandi og umleið 170 starvsfólk virka á teimum fimm deildunum á Setrinum, sum eru Føroyamálsdeildin, Søgu- og samfelagsdeildin, Námsvísindadeildin, Náttúruvísindadeildin og Deildin fyri heilsu og sjúkrarøktarvísindi.

Fróðskaparsetur Føroya is the University of and for the Faroe Islands. We work in partnership to provide high quality and distinctive learning and teaching, underpinned by research of high international standing. The University of the Faroe Islands is the country´s foremost knowledge centre and our chief purpose is sustainable and scientific grounded development of the Faroese society in close collaboration with our international partners.

More than 1000 students and about 170 staff work at the University´s five faculties: Faculty of Faroese Language and Litterature, Faculty of History and Social Sciences, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Science and Technology and Faculty of Health Sciences.
