Description
This presentation explores how traditions are negotiated within Faroese music education through a dual-method approach that combines archival research with qualitative interviews. It examines how traditional music is represented in curricula and practiced in schools, drawing on historical documents and contemporary educator perspectives. By analyzing historical documents alongside interviews with music teachers, the study investigates the tension between cultural preservation and modern influences. The research highlights both the challenges and the potential of integrating tradition into current educational frameworks, offering insights relevant to both academic discourse and practical policy development.Period | 16 Apr 2025 |
